2013 Kentucky Marijuana Summit
In partnership with RiverValley Behavioral Health, the Kentucky Office of Drug Control Policy and the Kentucky Agency for Substance Abuse Policy held a day and a half training in June, featuring Calvina Faye, Executive Director of the Drug Free America Foundation and Amy Ronshausen, Director of Legislative & Congressional Affairs.
The Marijuana Summit was designed to bring together many of Kentucky's leaders in the prevention, law enforcement, and treatment fields to begin a dialogue and develop a state-wide stragetic plan to navigate the cultural shift in the acceptance of marijuana throughout the Commonwealth.
Executive Director Calvina Faye, who has been actively involved in marijuana prevention for over 20 years, led the Summit and addressed current trends, as well as, indentify strategies of the growing marijuana challenges facing Kentucky communites. Her expertise and passion helped guide the participants in developing a state-wide strategic plan.
